1. Eucre Night @ Metropolitan Brewing
(Tuesday, Feb 7)

This Avondale brewery is hosting a Eucre tournament, a beloved Midwest playing card game that’s sort of like Spades or Hearts but with a few twists. This event is geared towards experienced players. A total of 28 spots available, open registration at 6:30 pm, and cards dealt at 7 pm. $5 entry fee with prizes for the top 2 players. Details here.

2. Storytelling @ Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro
(Thursday, Feb 9)

This is one of the longest running storytelling events in Chicago. Past guests have included writers, actors, chefs, theologians, SNL alums, musicians, bloggers, activists, professional storytellers, comedians, and more from our city and around the world. Show starts at 7:30 pm. Free. Details here.

3. Turnip and Stone @ Avondale Coffee Club
(Friday, Feb 10)

Turnip & Stone is a podcast hosted by comedians Eric Emerson and Steve Raines and they are putting on a live recording at Avondale Coffee Club. February’s live show is Valentine’s themed, so come with all your best love life questions, or submit them to their Facebook page, to get their take. Show starts at 7 pm. Tickets are $15. 4. Second Friday @ Chicago Art Department
(Friday, Feb 10)

It’s Second Friday in Pilsen, which means we’ve got a whole host of art galleries and shops opening their doors to this Friday night party. Ground zero is at the Chicago Art Department, an artist loft and the center of all the action. From 6 – 10pm. Details here.

5. Handmade Market @ Empty Bottle
(Saturday, Feb 11)

This neighborhood bar and music venue is hosting an afternoon market featuring 30 local artisans. Come shop and have a drink. From no0n – 4 pm. It’s 21+ and parents with kids. Details here.

6. Super Bowl Chili Cook-Off @ Liar’s Club
(Sunday, Feb 12)

Come watch not the Chicago Bears play in the Super Bowl while eating homemade chili. If you want to compete, you’ll need fill out an entry form (pick it up at the bar beforehand). The top prize is $150. Second place is $75.
