We're going on a day trip to Chicago's far North side and taking advantage of the Metra's $8 all-you-can-ride weekend pass to get there. We start with breakfast and short visit to downtown Highland Park, which is probably best known as the city that's home to the old Michael Jordan estate. Afterwards, we hop back on the train to visit Chicago's  only forest preserve along Lake Michigan that also sits next to a retired army barracks turned residential community.
