Fear not though because it appears summer is finally here. Side effects of its arrival include an insatiable desire to be outdoors, uncontrollable smiles and a renewed sense of your love for your city. With that in mind, we asked: When was the last time we acted like tourists in our own town. Sure, the Magnificent Mile becomes an “avoid at all costs” stretch for locals once tourism season reaches its peak, but on Chicago’s first 80-degree day of the year, we took a Chicago Avenue bus East to reacquaint ourselves with the area.
